DS-600 or 'Snake' or 'Non-Stop' sofa, designed by Ueli Berger, Eleonore Peduzzi-Riva, Hans Ulrich and Klaus Vogt in the early 1970s for De Sede Switzerland. This model is one of the most iconic and celebrated modular sofas in design history. This particular sofa is executed in its original brown suede, which is quite rare, with dark brown felt bases. It consists of 22 elements of which 4 ends. So you van make 2 sofas from it or 1 long sofa and a lounge chair. The elements connect via a heavy-duty zipper and metal rods. This allows it to be curved or stretched into almost any shape. The ingenious design offers great comfort and a infinite lay-out freedom. With its striking silhouette it shows great sculptural presence. A true masterpiece! The sofa is in good original vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The suede has no damages and is still strong, but it has marks, scratches and discolouration, as visible in the photos. The dimensions below are given per element. The ends are 26cm wide instead of 24cm for the normal elements.
