Vintage togatta style kokeshi by sato morimasa / 22 cm

Vintage kokeshi, made by sato morimasa (1926-2017). Sato-san was born on December 4, 1926 in fukushima, great-grandson of sato shunemon (togatta). After high school, he went to work in tokyo as an office worker in an electric company. Finally, at the end of the war, he returned to togatta and trained with his uncle to make kokeshi. He had several disciples such as sato jiro and takahashi hiroe. In April 1968, he renovated his house into a store to sell kokeshi. It has a trace of shock on the top of the head (see photos). Belonged to a collector located in sendai.
