Superb antique Nevers earthenware plate, dated to the second half of the 19th century. Entirely hand-decorated, it features a typical polychrome motif: stylized bird, flowering branches, insect, and bright yellow, blue, and green touches, all highlighted with brown lines. A bright decor full of character and detail. Several details confirm its attribution to Nevers: slightly bubbled enamel, with small irregularities characteristic of the artisanal productions of the time, traditional polychrome palette, used by the Nivernais workshops from the 18th century and still in the 19th, workshop stamp printed in black on the reverse, above the letter A, typical of the factory's kiln marks, and handwritten signature of the decorator, visible under the plate, common practice on artisanal pieces of this period. Diameter 24 cm. This plate has retained all its authentic charm: an old patina, some small marks of time, mini chips on the edge. A hairline crack on the top right edge (see photos). Perfect for wall decoration, for a chic flea market-style kitchen, or as a collector's item.
