The Womb Chair is the first fruit of the collaboration between Eero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Florence Knoll. They designed it in 1940 at the request of Florence Knoll, who asked them for "A chair that would be like a basket filled with cushions." It was produced in 1948. It was one of the first mass-produced armchairs, resolutely modern for its time! This piece is a first edition, fully restored in red and white mottled Maison Lelièvre wool. Ottoman dimensions: H: 38 cm - W: 64 cm - D: 50 cm. Manufacturer: Knoll International, circa 1960. Good vintage condition, fully reupholstered.
