Extendable dining table in oak by Guillerme and Chambron - 1960s

Elegant extendable dining table designed by Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron for Votre Maison, made in France in the 1960s. Fully dressed in warm tones of oak, this table illustrates the characteristic language developed by the duo for Votre Maison: generous volumes combined with remarkable wood sculpting and construction work. Oval in shape when closed, the table features a top composed according to a geometric pattern that highlights the different orientations of the oak grain. The base is one of the most interesting elements of the piece. The four legs, slightly curved and tapered, are connected by sculpted stretchers with organic curves, a detail particularly representative of Guillerme and Chambron's furniture. The table is equipped with two independent extensions. They allow for a gradual increase in capacity according to needs: without extension, with one extension, or with both. Overall vintage condition is good, with a patina and signs of use consistent with the age of the piece. Some marks and variations in colour are visible in the photographs.
