Scandinavian Oak Library by Carlo Jensen for Hundevad & Co

Sublime Scandinavian library piece from the modernist era (circa 1960), attributed to the talented designer Carlo Jensen and produced by the prestigious Danish manufacturer Hundevad & Co. (founded by the cabinetmaker Poul Hundevad). This high-end furniture stands out for the finesse of its oak veneer joinery with very graphic and warm horizontal grain. An authenticated piece of art, it bears the official stamp under its base as well as the valuable quality label "Danish Furnituremakers Control". It rests on a modernist tubular metal base in black, which enhances its clean lines and creates an elegant contrast with the lightness of the oak. Modular arrangement: Divided into two distinct vertical sections, each featuring 4 removable and height-adjustable shelves on rails, plus a fixed shelf at the bottom. The fronts of the shelves incorporate superb bevelled cutouts, a typical signature of Carlo Jensen's attention to detail. Ideal for displaying beautiful books, art objects, collectibles, or retro ceramic pieces, but also perfect in a teenager's room. In very good original condition. The wood shows a beautiful natural patina. Note some discreet signs of wear on certain shelves visible in the detailed photos, which are normal for a piece of furniture over 60 years old. Perfectly stable and robust structure. Non-smoking environment and a healthy home that appreciates design.
