Bamboo and brass marquetry coffee table circa 1980

A very beautiful coffee table, probably made to order by a French decorator in the 1980s. The bamboo marquetry creates a beautiful symmetry, with the polished brass rim and base adding a touch of glamour. This table was purchased in Cannes and its design is typical of the French Riviera, with bamboo and brass being a signature aesthetic of the region in the 1970s and 1980s. The table has been fully restored, with the top lacquered with a clear coat to protect the marquetry. A heavy, beautifully crafted, and highly decorative piece.
