Pair of malicorne earthenware plates, signed pb, pouplard-beatrix late nineteenth century. Decor of a couple of bretons. Plate n° 1: decor of a breton between two flowering branches. The wing is decorated with garlands of leaves and fruits. Plates n° 2: decor of a breton in traditional costume. In 1890, léon pouplard acquired the earthenware factory from his parents-in-law and married marie angèle béatrix. He is a representative for the earthenware factories of hb de quimper, he will systematically be inspired by his decorations. This will regularly earn him to be in court against hb quimper. Dimensions: 24.7cm diameter for each. Weight: 1 kg for both plates.
