Simat french sideboard

Elegant teak veneer sideboard published by SIMAT, an iconic French brand of the 1960s. With its taut lines, its neat finishes and its large format, this piece embodies the modernist style with Scandinavian influences. Its refined design is highlighted by superb handles carved in dark wood, and its silhouette is supported by a beveled base with a timeless retro charm. The teak has lovely warm shades, perfectly highlighted by the patina of time. In terms of layout, the sideboard combines aesthetics and functionality: • On the left, a hinged door opens onto two curved sliding trays, lined with original green felt, perfect for cutlery or small objects. • In the center, three drawers, also lined with felt, the first of which hides a hidden interior drawer, ingenious and refined. • On the right, two sliding doors reveal two large storage spaces: a niche with a curved shelf on one side, and a straight shelf on the other. 🪵 Good overall vintage condition. Please note: the piece of furniture is made of wood veneer and has some minor veneer loss on the sides of two drawers (see photos).
