Emanuel UNGARO: Lot of 3 beautiful black and white press fashion illustrations. These are mixed technical reproductions on lightly cardboarded paper. Period: late 80s. Press fashion prints in excellent condition from a press kit from a private collection and containing other sketches by disputes great stylists and couturiers. Colors: black and white. Format: 21 x 29.7 cm Hand-in-hand possible on Paris or prompt and careful lettering followed for less expense. Important: I confirm that this is not an original: this type of copies were given at the time to high-end clients during the new fashion collections. Biography: From the age of 9, Emanuel Ungaro began learning the tailoring trade with his father in Aix-en-Provence. Coming from a very modest Italian immigrant family, he decided to join Paris and then Barcelona at Balenciaga. There he made his classes making his mark in the world of luxury fashion. He spent 6 years there, then 2 at Courrèges. He opened his fashion house in 1965, in Paris and presented his first collection with few means. He draws both ready-to-wear and haute couture lines. Its trademark: mixes of prints, vivid shades, an art of drapery. In the 1980s, he was one of the 5 big names of Parisian haute couture, in this period of revival of French fashion, this French designer defines himself as "sensual obsessed", he draws carnal clothes, so that the Ungaro spirit inhabits every woman. At its inception, Emanuel Ungaro presents two fashion shows a year. In 1967, the designer's studio moved Avenue Montaigne, which is still its current headquarters. The "fashion designer who loves women" counts among his clients, from the beginning, Jackie Kennedy and Liliane Bettencourt. His first collection, "parallel", mainly composed of coats and trapeze dresses with multicolored prints tartan, tiles, or plain is a success. it was distributed in 1970 in the United States and Japan. The couturier launched into men's ready-to-wear in 1973 with the opening of an exclusive boutique. In 1977, Ungaro set up a store in New York. Emanuel Ungaro is regularly approached by french and international film stars. He notably dresses Catherine Deneuve, Gena Rowlands, Isabelle Adjani and regularly Anouk Aimée in their films. The master imposes his style that he wants provocative and free: extravagant prints, unique drapes and combinations of colors. these brands make its shows colorful shows. He received the Gold DI award for best haute couture collection in 1980. The company launched its first perfume: diva, in 1983. In 1996, the house was purchased by the Ferragamo family. In 1998, Emanuel Ungaro created the shoe and bag departments, the collections of glasses were born the following year. But, no longer in control of his own house, he prefers to stop. He left the Parisian fashion world on May 26, 2004 after more than 35 years of collections.
