Antique silver-plated teapot made in Sheffield, England, in the 1890s-1910s. Silver plating refers to the method invented in the city of Sheffield around 1743 by the jeweller Thomas Boulsover. The items are produced by hot laminating sheets of silver onto copper. This process fell out of use after the adoption of the electroplating system (silver plating of the base metal obtained through galvanic bath), which began in 1850. This treatment system was commonly referred to as Silver Plate. The antique teapot has the original manufacturer's label. Very good vintage condition. Dimensions: width: 25 cm / 9.84 inches, height: 14 cm / 5.5 inches, depth: 12 cm / 4.72 inches.
