Framed oil painting by the artist Alfred Morhain (1883-1953). Born in Moselle, he studied decorative arts in Strasbourg and attended classes with the painter Carl Von Marr in Munich. He settled in Mulhouse, Alsace, to teach drawing until 1951. He painted portraits and landscapes. The painting for sale depicts a pond filled with water lilies in the impressionist style. It is painted on a wooden panel. It dates from the early 20th century. Original wooden frame with double patina. Good condition, two tiny holes (see photos). Dimensions with frame: 27.5 cm X 21.5 cm, thickness 3 cm, size of the painted panel 23.8 cm X 17.5 cm. Weight without packaging 368 g.
