Compote dish in Longwy earthenware from the "Frivolité" decor, featuring a geometric border in cobalt blue, orange, and green on a slightly cracked ivory background due to age. The decor alternates between stylised floral motifs and geometric fragments in a late Art Deco spirit mixed with early 20th-century French popular influences. The earthenware exhibits a beautiful natural patina with a slight network of fine cracks visible under the glaze, typical of older productions. The low silhouette on a foot gives a discreet and elegant presence on the table. Mark on the reverse: Longwy. Probable dating: 1920s–1930s. Dimensions: Diameter: 22 cm, Height: 5 cm. Material: Glazed earthenware. Style: Popular Art Deco, Antique French earthenware. Possible uses: - compote dish - presentation plate - centrepiece - fruit bowl - decorative catchall - candle holder or support for antique objects. Condition: Generally good condition. No observed cracks. Firing cracks and slight signs of use consistent with age. A few small irregularities in the glaze at the edge visible in photos. A piece that immediately gives the impression that a bourgeois provincial tea could resume in ten minutes with mirabelle tart and conversation about railways. €42.
