Baumann post-war wheelchair 14-18

A Baumann wheelchair, a label known as the "coat of arms" used until 1923. --- As early as the end of the 19th century in Europe, the "sanitary" segment of the curved wooden seating ranges (solid but light, produced in low numbers) has found a market in public and private health places - hospitals, sanatoriums, spas. It became essential with the First World War and its influx of wounded, infirm or convalescent, both in institutions and in families. We are dealing here with a French model of the firm BAUMANN - in its find juice, remained complete and in perfect state of origin (probably did not or very little served). The No. 83 chair model is recognized in its initial version with circle link from 1919 to 1923 (arc version from 28). No visual-catalogue of Baumann wheelchairs before 1935, the sanitary furniture had to be offered separately on the principle that each model of wheelchair could be adapted as a "rolling" to order. Because the assembly of the wooden seat and the metal parts is indeed original; Baumann, unlike other manufacturers expert only in the field of wood, had mastered the field of "rolling" since the firm's origins in children's furniture (the same wheel is found on the pram "The Dream" lined with hard rubber); the small rear wheel is multi-directional (as on the Austrian Thonet). Original 6-wire canning remained flawless, without a single hitch. Room at once collector and perfectly functional, comfortable and very handy --- Height 90 cm - seat height 48cm - Seat 47 x 47 cm - width between armrests 46 cm - Total width with wheels 68 cm - diameter large wheels 51 cm.
