Suspension lotus Robert de Schuytener large format

Lotus flower suspension by Robert de Schuytener from the 1980s, large version, 75 centimetres in diameter. It is made up of black petals with a gold interior bordered by a black fabric trim. Robert de Schuytener is a designer and manufacturer of lighting and decorative objects, best known for vintage and design lamps produced in the second half of the 20th century (1960s–1980s). His name is associated with lighting pieces – table lamps, wall sconces, lamp bases – often signed or attributed to his workshop, with a style that oscillates between vintage modernism and post-war French interior design. He developed a production that circulated in the 1970s–80s, and his lamps are now sought after as collectible items or retro decorative elements.
