Large footed compote Gien model Iris with red floral decoration.

Superb large footed compote in Gien earthenware, Iris model, recognisable by its delicate red floral decoration with very fine lines, accompanied by dragonflies. An elegant and decorative model, typical of the productions of the Gien pottery. The stamp on the reverse mentions “Gold Medals – Honor Diplomas – Gien – Iris, ” referring to the distinctions obtained by the factory at the World Expositions, which places this model in the late 19th – early 20th century. Perfect as a centrepiece for presenting fruit, or simply as a beautiful decorative object in a kitchen or dining room with old-world charm. Condition: good overall condition for its age, with slight signs of use and small visible stains, without any major cracks or chips.
