Notary's cabinet PERFECTA in walnut. Restored (circa 1930)

Superb original patina for this professional piece of furniture, a cabinet or notary's filing cabinet in walnut dating from the 1930s or 1940s. Of very fine quality, it features careful finishes with moulded cornice strips, beautiful solid wood plinths, and especially these magnificent doors that allow for internal document organisation, with each section corresponding to an internal compartment. This is what makes it a true piece of professional furniture. It has been completely cleaned but care has been taken to preserve its original patina, which is very rich and bright. These notary's cabinets were meant to reflect their owner's social status and to look good. This one does just that, proudly displaying its brass label with very pretty letters on a black background: PERFECTA. A detail cherished by enthusiasts, certainly, but above all a guarantee of quality craftsmanship. The doors open to reveal two separate columns, each with 8 removable plywood shelves but with a solid oak plinth for aesthetics. They can be easily removed to adjust the storage spaces (and place a file higher up, for example). They remain perfectly suited to the dimensions of our modern papers and folders. The added lock works perfectly. The bolt, passing through the metal catch in the middle of the cabinet and lodging in the left door, then locks both doors. A rather pleasant system, again typical of professional furniture. There are some signs of wear, a few minor repairs (a few centimetres of the lower plinth on the right side, the upper strip on the right side also seems to have been replaced at some point, but it is all very discreet) but it remains in very good overall condition: clean and sound, ready for use.
