We are delighted to offer for sale this very well-made English revolving bookcase in mahogany, circa 1880-1900, Aesthetic Movement, featuring lovely carved cabriole legs and fretwork panels. An aesthetically pleasing and well-crafted piece, this is the first I have seen with this type of fretwork sculpture, and it appears to have been made by Jas Shoolbred. Typically, they rest on a basic wood section. In terms of condition, it has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished, in good usable condition with some light signs of patina. Dimensions Height: 69 cm, Width: 53 cm, Depth: 53 cm (measurements taken at the widest point). Please refer to the detailed photos that are part of the condition description. Note: vintage and original items like leather seating always have a natural patina in the form of creases and wear. We recommend annual waxing to prevent moisture loss. Hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, as it dries out and discolours.
