Superb round silver-plated serving dish, signed Fracalanza, an iconic house founded by Brazilian industrialist Angelo Fracalanza, a major figure in the production of tableware in alpaca and silver-plated metal in the mid-20th century. This large piece (36 cm in diameter) is appealing due to the balance of its proportions and the finesse of its stylised geometric relief decoration on the rim, contrasting with a smooth and luminous centre. The dish shows a beautiful patina and retains excellent structural integrity. Slight micro-scratches in the centre bear witness to its previous use, without detracting from its elegance or decorative quality.
