This exotic Mid-Century Brazilian patched leather lounge chair with side table is extreme in its design and exhibits tribal features. A group of young Brazilian designers produced throughout the 1960s and 1970s some of the most extraordinary furniture. Using traditional materials and techniques and combining native and colonial influences with a progressive, relaxed attitude. Therefore this iconic chair is in the style of modern midcentury designers like Jean Gillon, Percival Lafer and Sergio Rodrigues. This lay-back chair is handcrafted with great craftsmanship and features a tropical hardwood frame which is supporting a very thick leather sling seat stitched with gaucho style leather lacing. Also the patchwork leather cushion on top shows a decorative stitching. The lounge chair is in a very well preserved vintage condition and the leather cushion features a beautiful patina. A second chairs is also available in our collection. Brutalist Brazilian leather lounge chair and side table. 1960s. H 108 cm/42, 5″  W 72 cm/28, 3″  D 90 cm/35, 4″  SH 45 cm/17, 7″.
