Brutalist wall plaque

Large vintage modernist brutalist wall plaque by Ulla Winblad for Alingsås Keramik Sweden. Made during the period she worked at AB Alingsås Keramik between 1958 and 1967. Polychrome glazed ceramic plaque in sky blue and brown, hand-painted with relief birds. Original leather cord for hanging. 1960s. Numbered 276. Signed Ulla Winblad. Stamped Alingsås. Weight: 2.2 kg. Height: 30.5 cm. Width: 20 cm. Thickness: 1.5 cm. Between 1958 and 1967, Ulla Winblad became the artistic director of the Swedish company Alingsås Keramik. Her plaques are made of chamotte stoneware, with a rough surface and rectangular or square shapes. The relief patterns, full of tenderness, often depict stylised and colourful birds, owls, or stylised owls.
