A pair of Thonet B9/209 armchairs, no. 209, Radomsko, 1960s.
A pair of Thonet B9/209 No. 209 armchairs – Radomsko, 1960s. A unique pair of vintage Thonet B9/209 No. 209 armchairs, manufactured in Poland, in Radomsko, in the 1960s. The armchairs captivate with their characteristic bentwood construction. The slender frame, made of bentwood, creates fluid, organic lines in the backrest and armrests, whilst the round seats are finished with classic Viennese wickerwork. The B9/209 model is one of the most recognisable examples of bentwood furniture inspired by Thonet’s designs. The form of this model is prized by collectors and enthusiasts of vintage design for its simplicity of construction, visual lightness and distinctive use of bentwood. Pieces produced in Radomsko also appear on the European vintage market. The pair presented here is in very good vintage condition, with natural signs of age and wear that emphasise the furniture’s authenticity. The armchairs are ideal both as comfortable seating around a table and as standalone pieces in a living room, study, bedroom or commercial space. Their timeless form blends well with both classic interiors and modern, minimalist schemes. The set is sold as a complete pair – 2 armchairs. Details: Manufacturer: ZPM Radomsko.
