Articulated lamp Ravel model 205, Bernard Albin Gras, Clamart, France, 1932

Authentic articulated lamp ravel model n°205 designed by bernard albin gras in 1932 and produced at the clamart manufacture in france. Pyramidal cast steel base housing a circular ball head in black bakelite allowing the arms to orient themselves in a multitude of orientations. The legendary joints of the connecting rods, seamless thanks to the ingenious system of staples created by bernard albin gras makes this workshop lamp an icon. The model 205, called "portable" was intended for industry and design offices. Very quickly, it was adopted by architects and artists such as le corbusier, mallet-stevens, eileen gray, sonia delaunay, braque... Stamped ravel clamart lamp on one of the ball joints, aluminum reflector number 1054 (140x130mm), brass bayonet socket, electricity modified in the 70s in perfect working order, 25w bulb provided as a gift without guarantee to transport, round socket. No shock, in very good condition, nice patina. Made in france, circa 1950. Freshly renovated and stripped to find the original steel, patinated protective wax applied with great care.
