Round coffee table brass walnut, glass by Gio Ponti for singer & sons, 1950 italy

Mid- century modern period coffee table designed by famous italian furniture designer gio ponti and manufactured by singer& sons in 1950's period, italy. Round shaped coffee table is made of solid walnut wood- lacquered black, brass shaped details and original glass top. From above the geometric form of a grid is visible through the round glass top. This pieces is an admirable example of ponti's design and craftsmanship talent. The top has some minor scratches and one chip- please see the pictures, due to it's age and use. We are able to replace the glass top for the new one(additional costs) if you would like that, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information. Gio ponti once said, “modernity is not about adopting four square-sized pieces of furniture”. Modernity must be more complex than that – it cannot give up the past.
