Black painted desk

This is a very well aged antique bureau which dates to the early 1800s. It is made of mahogany and mixed woods and is very heavy and solid. The front has a fall front which opens to reveal a fitted interior with various small drawers surrounding a small lockable cupboard to the centre. The bureau is set on bracket feet and the front is fitted with four drawers which have cock beading and later brass drop handles set on decorative back plates. The bureau has been hand painted in black paint before being distressed and then finished with wax for protection. The paintwork is solid colour and the finish is smooth and fairly matt looking. Measurements. Height-101cms. Height to desktop-77cms. Width-87cms. Depth-47.5cms. Condition. The bureau is very solid and well made but is well aged with various marks and dents to the wood here and there. The handles are a later replacement, the top two drawer locks sit over the backs of the handles. There are some small areas of damage, one to the top left hand edge, as shown. The interior of the desk top and drawers are well aged, please see all the photos. The key has been lost somewhere in time.
