Three blue-grey luxo lamps. 40s/50s. These three lamps come from the same workshop. They have been completely dismantled and cleaned with love (which does not sometimes prevent a zest of impatience), electrical assembly redone. The base is weighted with weight of ten kilos which allows the lamp to take all possible positions. This lamp was created by the norwegian jacob jacobsen (1901-1996), importer of machine tools for the textile industry. The latter received a model of lamp anglepoise 1227 (english manufacture) in 1936. Struck by the ingenuity and design of the object, he bought the manufacturing license for the scandinavian countries, then redesigned it by simplifying its forms. Made in oslo, the luxo l1-p (literally "i give light" in latin) was officially born in 1938. It is imposed in schools, offices, industrial workshops, health facilities, design agencies and architects. In the 1940s, it was the most common work lamp, both in europe and in the United States. Years 40-50, foot diameter and reflector: 21 cm, maximum height: 103 cm.
