Large Daum Nancy soliflore - marbled orange blown glass - H=41cm

An antique orange marbled glass soliflore, signed Daum Nancy at the base, accompanied by the Lorraine cross. This piece is a production from the 1920s, at the crossroads of Art Nouveau and Art Deco: an elongated and balanced shape, simply decorated, in an aesthetic transition between organic curves and clean lines. This piece is distinguished by its shape: a bulging base extending into a long, slender neck. The whole presents a play of transparencies and nuances, achieved through the technique of blown glass, then marbled, with the inclusion of coloured powders.
