Napoleon III style mirror with gilt brass side panels

Charming Napoleon III period mirror (circa 1860–1880). The wooden frame is adorned with a formerly gilded, repoussé, and chased brass trim, decorated with scrolls, fruit, and foliage. A beautiful openwork pediment is decorated with a basket of flowers. The beveled trim frames the original central glass, which shows some slight pitting of the silvering and signs of age, typical of its age. A small loss of brass decoration (visible in the detailed photos) does not detract from the overall appearance or its stability. Beautiful, warm patina, crisp details: a mirror full of charm and authenticity.
