Two opposing handles made of vine shoots, finely chiselled in relief with their leaves and bunches of grapes, elegantly frame the whole. A central medallion in silver-plated metal echoes this same botanical vocabulary, a signature of the naturalistic taste of 1900. The reverse shows slight wear and some scratches, consistent with the age of the piece and indicative of past use — the mark of authenticity that copies will never be able to imitate.
