An elegant crystal chandelier in Maria Theresa style with five lights. Its hallmark is the high-scrolling glass arms, set with rows of small rosettes, which give it a tall, almost regal silhouette. At the centre is a cut baluster stem beneath a scalloped crown. The five light arms carry clear, scalloped candle cups with candle sleeves. The chandelier is richly hung with teardrop and almond-shaped drops and has a cut crystal ball at its centre. Seen from below, the star-shaped arrangement of the arms is clearly visible. The construction – glass sleeves over a metal frame with rosettes at the joints – is typical of the Maria Theresa chandeliers made in Europe in the mid-20th century. This chandelier is wider and taller than the average Maria Theresa chandelier, with beautifully scrolling arms. It looks light and refined and, in the photos, is in good condition without visible damage.
