Solid wood truss bench

Beautiful farmhouse bench. Made by a craftsman at the end of the nineteenth century, this superb bench is entirely made of oak. It is composed of a long seat, which rests on 4 slightly oblique feet, themselves connected by a spacer. There is no molding or carving, just the wood and its beauty. The assembly is of very high quality, respecting the traditional know-how, without hardware. The few spikes that can be seen came later, during brief repairs. It is in excellent general condition, solid and stable, with traces of its long life and some attacks of xylophages. The shade has taken on a magnificent caramel patina over the years. This superb bench will be perfect to accommodate several guests around a farmhouse table, or will create the contrast with a much more modern table. Circa 1890. Size: Height: 47 cm. Width: 35 cm.
