Large Sommerso Murano Glass Catchall/Bowl by Flavio Poli, Italy, 1960s/1970s

Beautiful large mid-century modern murano sommerso glass catchall/small bowl designed by flavio poli (italy, 1960s). Made of thick dark blue, blue and transparent murano glass. Perfectly works as an ashtray, a vide poche, a catchall or just as a display piece on any table. Original label still readable (can be removed very easily if needed). Width: 14.5 cm; depth: 13.5 cm; height: 6 cm. Excellent vintage condition. ''sommerso'' is a technique developed in murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1960s/70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly caused by a clear layer.
