Small Vallauris vase in mosaic clay signed Gerbino

Small vase signed gerbino (1876-1966) in mosaic clay. Very good state. 13 cm high by 9 cm in diameter. Jean gerbino has developed a mosaic technique of earth colored with oxides. He made it flat then placed it in a mold. After slow drying, he carried out a first cooking. He then applied a transparent enamel and then a second firing. His manufacturing secret has been passed down to his great-granddaughter who perpetuates the family know-how in her vallauris workshop.
