Entirely knotted by hand, pure wool, vegetable dyes, size: 1.15mx1.15m for both, same dimensions. The term "turkmen carpets" refers to carpets manufactured in various regions, including uzbekistan, turkmenistan, east turkestan, afghanistan and balochistan. Turkmen carpets include, among others, bashir, salor, tekke, tjaudor and yomut carpets, all of which are examples of carpets that were called, until a few decades ago, bukhara carpets. What distinguishes turkmen carpets is, among other things, that their chain is almost always made of wool, that their "göl" patterns are repetitive, and that they often have wide borders on the widths that are not found on the lengths. Red, playing on the entire palette from purple to brown, is a dominant color. Tekke-bochara, ersar, tschoval, beshir and jolam-bocharaband are all examples of turkmen carpets.
