Pope françois-ignace, secretary in mahogany from the consulate period stamped

PAPST François-Ignace, secretary simulating a moulded and carved mahogany chest of drawers from the Consulate period. It opens with three large drawers, a flap covered in leather revealing seven small drawers and two shelves. It rests on claw feet at the front. Grey veined marble top. Key present and locks functional. Early 19th century, Consulate period. Stamped PAPST François-Ignace. François-Ignace Papst - Cabinetmaker originally from Germany. Master on 3 September 1785. He worked in Cour Saint-Joseph on Rue de Charonne and then on Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine. He supplied the Crown's Garde-Meuble. Dimensions. Height 143.5 cm. Width 98 cm. Depth 42 cm.
