Vintage Hollywood Regency Flower Floor Lamp 1960

Superb light fitting in the style of Henri Fernandes. This impressive modern floor lamp could be attributed to Henri Fernandez (France, born in 1946). A trained sculptor with a background in metallurgy, Fernandez brings a unique expertise to his metalwork. His preferred materials are steel, brass, and copper, some of which are beautifully showcased in this striking sculptural lamp. The lamp consists of three remarkable flowers with carefully crafted petals that fold outward to reveal the bulbs. The petals are made of brass. The two upper flowers are adjustable using a ball joint. When lit, the piece comes to life - the light radiates from the spheres and highlights the plastic details of the petals. Delicate brass stems extend downward from the flower heads, ending in a cluster of bicoloured petals in copper and silvered brass (characteristic of Henri Fernandes' work) folded outward, resting on a round base. Although Fernandez's works are often unsigned, they are easily identifiable by their distinctive style and masterful execution. His exceptional craftsmanship is evident in the faithful modelling of the flowers, which convey both softness, delicacy, and realism. The light fitting is in its original condition. It shows some slight signs of wear that attest to a past life serving the light. A thorough cleaning with suitable products will restore its full brilliance (service available upon request).
