An extremely rare and elegant glass vase, wheel-engraved, enameled, and decorated with birds in flight by the renowned Art Nouveau glassmaker François-Théodore Legras (1839-1916). The slender, soliflore-type vase with a flared neck features a superb, continuous design of stylized swallows in sepia brown tones against an opaque, marbled beige and white background. The glasswork and enameling demonstrate the exceptional skill of the Légras & Cie workshops, especially for this very rare, wheel-engraved piece of exceptional quality. This vase belongs to the 98000 series, which, according to the 2012 reference book VITRAT ET MICHEL, are characterized by their heavy forms and opaque, marbled backgrounds. It is particularly rare. Other models with more classic shapes and this decoration are more common, although still very rare, but this one is a truly unique and extremely rare piece.
