Set of 4 authentic Art Deco chairs, attributed to Maison Selmersheim & Cie (Paris), a large cabinet-making workshop supplying the greatest decorators of the 1920s–30s. Structure in sculpted blond solid wood, with organic lines and slightly curved legs. Original (period) black skai seat and backrest, mounted on moulded panels. Rare model with enveloping backrest, typical of high-end French Art Deco. The chairs bear the workshop's branded mark “S”, visible inside the structure (see photo). Period. Circa 1925–1935. Origin. France, Paris – Maison Selmersheim & Cie. Condition. Very good overall condition considering the age. Natural wear of the wood (patina, small scuffs on the feet) consistent with normal use. 👉 One chair has a small repair needed at the backrest (see photo 5): sound structure, simple repair for a cabinetmaker or a knowledgeable amateur. Selmersheim was one of the main manufacturers of furniture for Ruhlmann, Printz, Süe & Mare. These chairs are typical of Art Deco dining or executive office furniture. Ideal for: • Art Deco interior. • Film set decoration. • High-end restaurant or boutique. • Collector of 1930s French furniture. For sale as a set of 4. (Market estimate: €2,800 to €4,000 for the set depending on restoration).
