Vintage Brazilian Rosewood Coffee Table by Johannes Andersen for CFC Silkeborg

This coffee table was designed by johannes andersen for cfc silkeborg in the 1960s. This table features two drawers at either end, one of which has two compartments. The tabletop is rosewood veneer, the legs and edgings are solid rosewood. The table has been recently re-finished and is in a very good condition with hardly any fading or marks. Johannes andersen is a danish designer from the 20th century. He renowned for his organic work. He met with great success thanks to his suite of furniture named capri, composed by tables in rosewood and sofas. The organic forms of this furniture seduced on the international stage. Biography. Johannes andersen was born in 1903 in denmark. After cabinetmaking studies, he received his degree then he worked for different workshops. In the mid-1930s, he founded his own architectural workshop. He began collaborating with many norwegian and swedish manufacturers, such as trensum. Andersen has taken advantage of the consumption boom from the 50s and 60s: danish people wanted buy more and more furniture.
