Earthenware soup tureen from the Salins-les-Bains factory, Montréal model, produced in the 1950s–1960s. The graphic decoration immediately evokes the modernist aesthetic of the post-war period: wide celadon blue bands, fine black lines, and structured crossings create a very contemporary play of perspectives, all set against an ivory background. The overall design recalls a stylised tartan pattern reinterpreted in a minimalist style. Elegantly rounded shape, with discreet handles and a simple lid knob. Stamped Salins. Diameter 24 cm, width with handles 31 cm, height with lid 14.5 cm, height without lid 9.5 cm. In beautiful vintage condition, with a patina of time, fine natural crazing of the earthenware visible under the base, and a very slight discreet usage chip around the rim (see photos). Graphic and timeless, perfect for a chic modernist bistro table.
