An antique earthenware pitcher, known as a "chevrette, " is a handcrafted piece with a strong decorative presence. Traditionally used for serving water or cider, it is distinguished by its tubular spout, two side handles, and a central handle, giving it an immediately recognisable sculptural silhouette. The ochre clay, intentionally left partially exposed, is animated with beige and cobalt blue glaze drips applied freely, creating a deep contrast between raw material and shine. Each trace of glaze is unique, revealing the potter's gesture and giving the piece an almost abstract aesthetic, highly appreciated in contemporary displays. The interior is partially glazed, with the bottom left raw, highlighting the object's utilitarian origin while reinforcing its authenticity. In excellent vintage condition, with slight signs of age and use, perfectly consistent with the age and artisanal nature of the piece. No brand or provenance indicated. Height 18 cm, depth 14 cm. Diameter at the widest point 11 cm, width including handles 14 cm. A strong decorative object, ideal as a vase. It fully fits into a warm minimal and raw material aesthetic, highly sought after for adding relief, texture, and soul to interiors.
