Simplicity often arises from necessity. In this case, we wanted to design a table constructed solely from connected slabs, making it highly producible with minimal waste from leftover pieces. Designing from this starting point also offers an interesting angle regarding form: a robust look and feel, reminiscent of a bunker, yet simultaneously generating space and permeable to air due to the deliberate opening in the middle. Lloyds is named after the great Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the most influential architects in design history, known for combining functionality with organic harmony. His masterpiece Fallingwater illustrates his belief that architecture should blend into its natural environment. In the same spirit, we believe our stone tables should form a logical and balanced context within the interior decor in which they are placed.
