Mid century retro vintage teak sideboard. 1960. Beautiful and quiet piece it the last middle of the century. This fantastic piece is produced by quality furniture maker stonehill. Stonehill was known for their good and high-quality furniture, specializing in sideboards and coffee tables. This piece is rather unusual with its light color teak and is strongly influenced by the scandinavian design. With three drawers in the middle and a cupboard on each side for plenty of storage space. Typical of stonehill stat this sideboard on cleft legs. The austrian furniture maker nathan steinberg arrived in london in 1895 at the age of 13. In 1910 he founded his own company that produced bedroom furniture. After world war ii, the company became stonehill furniture whose main factory was in edmonton, north london. Today, they are best remembered for producing teak sideboards in a variety of popular designs, as well as teak and glass coffee tables, probably inspired by similar tables designed by victor wilkins for gplan. This sideboard is in a good used vintage condition with some light signs of use. W 158, 5cm X d 43, 5cm X h 74cm.
