Cult piece of furniture from the 50s, the wooden sideboard, compass feet, Scandinavian inspired. This designer sideboard was created by Roger Hilaire for Maison Malora (Lorraine furniture manufacturer) renowned for the quality of its furniture. It was made in France, it is labeled and bears the “French standard” label. It is in its original state, in good condition, the top needs to be sanded because a few stains are present (see photos), and one of the doors is weakened, the rest is in good condition. (hence the drop in price) This magnificent 5-door sideboard with integrated shelves and drawers is mounted on compass legs. The finishes are superb. For the record: the Malora company was created in 1921 in Tomplaine (Meurthe et Moselle). In 1949 Roger Hilaire bought 50% of the shares. He learned his trade as a cabinetmaker with his father, a collaborator of the prestigious Majorelle, a big name in art nouveau in Nancy. In 1953 the company became Malora.
