Leather Mirror, Attributed to Uno & Östen Kristiansson, Luxus Vittsjö, circa 1965–1975. Rare modernist wall mirror attributed to designers Uno and Östen Kristiansson, likely produced by the Swedish manufacturer Luxus Vittsjö, a major figure in Scandinavian design from the 1950s to the 1970s. The composition is distinguished by a long vertical strip of patinated full-grain leather, suspended by an architecturally designed leather piece and visible cylindrical axis, incorporating a slightly bevelled circular mirror at its centre. The lower part is finished with a delicate fringe decoration, enhancing the artisanal and sculptural dimension of the whole. This model perfectly illustrates the formal vocabulary developed by the Kristiansson brothers, characterised by the structural use of leather, the clarity of suspension systems, and the harmonious integration of natural materials into a refined modernist aesthetic. The quality of the leather, the precision of the assembly, and the particularly elegant proportions link this piece to the production of Luxus Vittsjö during its creative maturity, when the publisher collaborated with some of the most important Scandinavian designers.
