Joyce Whitchurch Tower Clock 1

A scarcely found tower clock made in england by joyce of whitchurch. C.1880. A rare find, and in an incredibly time worn distressed appearance. Heavy duty steel dial with numerous stains, losses, cracks and chips - but critically all sound, secure and clean - fitted into the original timber frames. The outline of hand painted makers name can be seen on the dial. The original copper hands have a wonderful verdigris patina and have been fitted to a modern 240v electric mechanism and are now perfectly balanced to keep time accurately. Thought to have come from a clock tower in wakefield, however not confirmed.
