Pair of armchairs model 53 by Jaroslav Smídek for TON, years 1960

It is a pair of armchairs designed by Jaroslav Šmídek and manufactured by TON in the years 1960. The frame is in curved beech and the padding is dark wine color. This piece represents the Brussels style that formed after the enormous success of the Czech design at the Expo 58 in Brussels in 1958.
