Fireplace fenders in brass or bronze

Here is a pair of lovely cast iron andirons with a simple and elegant shape, adorned with a ball-shaped head in gilded metal (brass or bronze). The heads have a nice shape, resembling a balloon resting on a base; they are likely original as they are well proportioned to the dimensions of the vertical section. The heads were blackened by smoke, and I cleaned them by gently rubbing with fine steel wool, without overdoing it to avoid removing their lovely patina. These andirons are in generally good condition, solid, and stable, but show the patina of time and use: various marks on the cast iron (stains, superficial corrosion) and there are some marks remaining on the heads. They measure 40 cm in length, 36 cm in height, and 25 cm in width at the feet.
