Antique solid oak sideboard

Lots of charm for this old solid oak sideboard of beautiful craftsmanship with fully doweled assembly for the body of the furniture and dovetails for the drawers. Ball feet. Presence of old pits and woodworm galleries. The sideboard has been entirely sanded, treated against pests and protected by a hard bottom, followed by a satin varnish tinted golden oak. One drawer with a handle, the second opens and closes with a key. This same key also opens and closes the right door. The latter has benefited from a two-component repair for a missing part of its closing strip (visible in photo). Two removable boards in raw oak make up the bottom and the interior shelf. A small latch allows the left door to be held. All the ironwork is original. The back of the furniture, missing when it was acquired, has been replaced with plywood boards. It is easy to write a lot about these pieces of furniture, whose marks and imperfections bear witness to their history...
