Rare French coffee table in wrought iron and slate. The top has an organic shape, resting on a square iron base. The base has a patina in some places. Origin: Southern France, early to mid-20th century. Slate is a metamorphic rock of sedimentary origin, mainly composed of quartz, sericite, and minerals from the chlorite group. Used as a building material since ancient Egypt. Very heavy piece.
